Heritage Days! We are tryin' to "round-up" some more help.
Committee Leaders are still needed in the following areas:
Co-Chairman, Parade Chairman, and Fun Run/Walk Chairman.
We also need to "rustle-up" some willing hands for these
areas: Parade, Fun Run/Walk,
3-on-3 Basketball Tournament, and Carnival.

Miss Nibley City Royalty Pageant - Saturday, June 14
Calling all girls who are interested in participating in the Miss Nibley City Royalty Pageant! The pageant will
be held during the Nibley City Heritage Days Celebration on Saturday, June 14. Applications can be picked up at the City Offices. Contact Rachel Haycock with questions (a_rhaycock@yahoo.com, 787-8541). Guidelines for Miss Nibley, Jr. Miss Nibley, and Miss Nibley Princess participants can be obtained HERE.The event will start at 7:00 p.m. at the L.D.S. Church (360 West, 3200 South). Come support our talented youth in this years Royalty Roundup. There will be no charge for admission. However, a donation towards the Miss Nibley Scholarship fund would be greatly appreciated.
Sports Night - Tuesday, June 17
Come join the fun and excitement of this year's Round Up with the 3-on-3 basketball double elimination basketball tournament! The event will be held at Nibley Elementary (2545 South, 660 West) at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. Age divisions this year are as follows:
8-10 years
11-13 years
14-16 years
17 and older
Pick up a team registration form at the Nibley City Office and return it with all your team's signatures and payment. Each player must fill out a registration form with their team name and names of all players on the team. For more information or questions, contact Robbie Gerber at 787-8951. Sidewalk Art Contest - Tuesday, June 17Put on your boots and spurs, holster your chalk, and be ready to draw! Lil' buckaroos of all ages are invited to show off their drawing skills at our "Western Themed" sidewalk chalk showdown. Questions? Call Sarah Larsen at 753-0954. Family Swim Night - Wednesday, June 18
Take a dip in the swimmin' hole! Join us at the Logan Aquatic Center (451 South, 500 West in Logan) from 7:30 - 9:30 p.m. for a fun night of swimming. Don't want to stand in line at the pool? Pre-purchase wristbands at the Nibley City Office. $/person or $5/family (up to 8). The cost will be $1/person at the gate. Questions? Call Bryan Hansen at 245-2168.
Baby Pageant - Thursday, June 19
The Baby Pageant will be held at 6:00 p.m. at Little Wonders Preschool (3223 South Main). This year's theme is "Our Little Buckaroo." All Nibley babies, ages 0-24 months, are invited to participate. Pick up a Baby Pageant entry form at the Nibley City Offices. The entry form deadline is June 14th. Please include a 5x7 picture of your baby and a $5 entry fee. Completed entry forms can be left at the Nibley City Offices or mailed to Janet Thurston, 570 West, 2700 South, Nibley, UT 84321. Questions? Call Janet at 752-5754.
Flag Ceremony - Thursday, June 19 & Friday, June 20
Please help us honor our country during a special flag ceremony by the Cub Scouts (Thursday) and the Civil Air Patrol (Friday) at 6:45 p.m. at the Nibley City Park (3200 South, 300 West).
Children’s Theatre - Pirates of Penzance - Thursday, June 19 & Friday, June 20
As part of the 2008 Nibley City Heritage Days, the Children’s Theatre will be presenting Pirates of Penzance, by Gilbert and Sullivan. We have speaking and singing parts for pirates, policemen, mermaids, pirate maids, the major general and his daughters, and more. There are some especially good roles for boys and we encourage teenage boys to try out. We are really excited for our upcoming year!
Dates to remember ...
Tryouts/Sign-Ups: May 21-22, 5:30 - 6:30 p.m., at the Old Town Hall
Play Practices: June 9-13 and 16-18 at the Old Town Hall (see table below for times)
Performances: June 19-20 at Nibley Park Amphitheater
Children ages 5-17 are invited to sign up at the Old Town Hall. Your child must be 5 by June 30th to participate. Please note that if you don’t sign up on May 21-22, you are not guaranteed a part. We will start making and ordering costumes immediately after sign-ups. We will not order/make extra costumes. So, there will be no late sign-ups accepted this year. If you can’t make it to sign up, please contact Bonnie EARLY.
Parents will be asked to help with groups, costumes, scenery, etc. Please be prepared to sign up to help. We are still looking for parents to help choreograph and lead the various groups. We also need an assistant and a float chair to organize the Nibley Children’s Theatre float for the parade. Please contact Bonnie to volunteer.
Group parts this year are as follows:

Community Dinner - Friday, June 20
The Heritage Days Community Dinner will be held on Friday, June 20th, from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. at the Nibley City Park (3200 South,
300 West). You may notice that bandits have robbed the stagecoach and are sharing the wealth! Tickets are only $5.00 per adult and $3.00 per child (11 and under).
This is way below cost! The dinner will be catered by Iron Gate Grill and includes BBQ chicken hoagie, AuGrautin potatoes, baked beans, green salad, ice cream sandwich, and a drink.
If you attended the Community Dinner last year, then you will remember the great entertainment. This year promises to be another crowd pleaser.
We are thrilled to have Ryan Blau back with us to share his talent! Join us for this boot-stompin,' crowd-pleasin' fun!

Kick off your boots and relax under the stars at 9:00 p.m. at the Nibley City Park (3200 South, 300 West). Our free family movie this year is "The Bee Movie."
Fun Run / Walk - Saturday, June 21
On your mark, get set, go! We are winding up for the Nibley Heritage Days 1 Mile & 5 K
Fun Run. So, put on your running shoes and run over to the Nibley City Offices to get signed up for this year's event.
There is no entrance fee for either the 1 Mile or 5 K. However, if you would like a T-shirt, they are $5 each or $7 for any size over XL. Please pay in advance and specify T-shirt size desired.
So, no matter your physical fitness, come out for an early morning or community fitness and fun! Or, even just to cheer on the runners.
Volunteers are also needed to assist in set-up, take-down, and traffic control (contact Jacqui Gale, if interested, at 787-1934).
Last minute event sign ups will be at 7:00 a.m. Race begins at 7:30 a.m. at the Nibley City Park (3200 South, 300 West). There will be a drawing for prizes after the race. Question? Call Todd Hugie at 753-7427.
Last year, 23 people "beat the mayor" in the 5 K race. Mayor Gerald Knight's time was 25:49. The top 3 finishers were: Wesley Cash, 17:27; Judy Cash, 18:08; and Bob Cash, 18:09.

- Saturday, June 21 The parade starts at 10:00 a.m. at the L.D.S. Church (3200 South). The new route will travel west through Nibley and then will turn onto 800 West and go north, ending at Gibbons Park. Feel free to sit anywhere along the parade

Concessions / Carnival - Saturday, June 21
Heritage Days week will wrap up with a carnival at
Gibbons Park (875 West, Nibley Park Avenue) between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00
p.m. There will be food and fun for everyone. Carnival
activities include: relay games, candy cannon, inflatable rides,
dunk tank, prize raffles, and several food and product vendors.
All-day ride passes may be purchased for $5 each. At 2:30, join the Watermelon Extravaganza!
Free watermelon will be served followed by a seed spittin' contest.
