Children's Bike Parade - Monday, June 14 - 6:00 p.m. (arrive early for line-up)

For all kids and kids-at-heart - a Monday night family fun activity to kick off Heritage Days.  Celebrate in style, showing your colors and enthusiasm for our great community!  Decorate your bicycles, scooters, skateboards, wagons.  You can even decorate yourselves.  The route will be from the LDS church parking lot on 3200 S. to Nibley Elementary School, via Elkhorn Park on 600 W.  The parade starts at 6:00 p.m.  Please arrive prior to the parade start time to line up.  Treats will be provided at the end of the course.

Baby Pageant - Tuesday, June 15 - 6:00 p.m.

Bring your little gems and let them sparkle at the Baby Pageant!  Anyone ages 0-3 years old may enter.  The cost is $5.00 per entry.  Registration forms are available at the City Office or can be downloaded HERE.  Registration runs from May 10 - June 1.  Please bring a picture of your baby when you register.  The event will be held at 6:00 p.m. at the the LDS Church on 3200 South.

Sports Night - Tuesday, June 15 - 5:30 p.m. (youth), 7:30 p.m. (adults)

Join us for 3-on-3 basketball and soccer tournaments at Nibley Elementary (2545 S., 660 W.).  Youth teams (3rd - 12th grade) will begin at 5;30 p.m.  Adult teams (age 18+) will begin at 7:30 p.m.  Registration will run from May 20 - June 7.  Teams can sign up at the Nibley City Office or you may download a registration form HERE.  If you have questions, call Clint at 753-0704.

Family Swim Night - Wednesday, June 16 - 7:30 p.m.

Enjoy an evening at the Logan Aquatic Center with your friends and neighbors from 7:30 - 9:30 p.m.  Wrist bands ($1/person) go on sale June 1st at the Nibley City Office.  You may also purchase them at the Logan Aquatic Center (451 S., 500 W. in Logan) the day of the event starting at 7:00 p.m.  Children 3 and under are free and need to wear a swim diaper and swim suit with an inside lining. 

Due to weather, the Family Swim Night was rescheduled for September 8.  Wrist bands are $1 and can be purchased at the City Office before the event. The wrist bands cannot be purchased at the pool. Children 3 and under are free and need to wear a swim diaper and swim suit with an inside lining.

Sidewalk Art - Thursday, June 17 - 10:30 a.m.

Children of all ages are invited to show off their drawing skills for the entire town to see.  Questions? Call Maria Wood at 753-0186.  The event will be held at Gibbons / Heritage Park (875 W. Nibley Park Ave.) at 10:30 a.m. Popsicles will be available for all of the kids.  A prize drawing will also be held.

Flag Ceremony - Thursday, June 17 - 6:45 p.m.

Please help us honor our country during a special flag ceremony presented by the Boy Scouts of America at 6:45 p.m. at the Nibley City Park (3200 S., 300 W.).

Children’s Theatre - Thursday, June 17 - 7:00 p.m.

As part of the 2010 Nibley City Heritage Days, the Children’s Theatre will be presenting The Town that Couldn't Wake Up or Sleeping Beauty Western Style.  The play will be held at the Jessie Datwyler Amphitheater located at the Nibley City Park (300 W., 3200 S.).  Questions? Participants should make note of the following dates:
Tryouts/Sign–ups: Friday, May 21 from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, May 22 from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. at the Old Town Hall (300 W. 3200 S.)
Play Practices: June 7–11 and 14–16 at the Old Town Hall (calendar of practices below)
Performances: June 17 and 18 at the Nibley City Park, Jesse Datwyler Amphitheater (300 W. 3200 S.)

Children ages 5-17 (age 5 by June 30) are invited to participate. Kids can sign up for a group part if they prefer with no tryout necessary. Kids ages 8 and older can try out for speaking parts. Parents must sign a hold-harmless waiver in order for their child(ren) to participate. Parents will be asked to help with groups, programs, stage managing, costumes, scenery, etc.

Group parts are as follows (age group may change slightly depending on number of children signing up):

                            Group 1 - boys and girls, ages 11+, Barbed Wire Gang

                            Group 2 - girls, ages 8–10, Villagers

                            Group 3 - boys, ages 8–10, Cowboys

                            Group 4 - girls, ages 5–7, Little Larks (Lark is the female lead; these girls sing with her)

                            Group 5 - boys, ages 5–7, Indians

Mayor's Dinner for the Community - Friday, June 18 - 5:00 p.m.

The Heritage Days Mayor's Dinner for the Community will be held on Friday, June 18, from 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. at the Nibley City Park (3200 S., 300 W.).  Bring the family and enjoy a night with the mayor as we celebrate our 75th Anniversary with good friends, food, and fun!  Tickets are $5.00 / person or $25 / family when pre-ordered or $6 / adult and $4 / child when purchased at the door.  To pre-order, drop by the City Office to pay or mail in the dinner ticket located HERE.  The deadline to pre-order is June 14.

The meal will be catered by Cafe Sabor who will provide child-friendly food. A karaoke system will be available for entertainment.  

Flag Ceremony - Friday, June 18 - 6:45 p.m.

Please join us as we honor our country during a special flag ceremony presented by the Boy Scouts of America.  The ceremony will be at 6:45 p.m. at the Nibley City Park (3200 S., 300 W.).

Movie in the Park - Friday, June 18 - 9:00 p.m.

Bring your family to relax under the stars at the Nibley City Park - Jessie Datwyler Amphitheater (300 W., 3200 S.) at 9:00 p.m.  Our free family movie this year is Dreamwork's "Monsters vs. Aliens."

Breakfast - Saturday, June 19 - 7:00 a.m.

A breakfast will be held at Gibbons / Heritage Park (875 W. Nibley Park Ave.) from 7:00 - 9:00 a.m.  Enjoy pancakes, sausage, eggs, and orange juice for only $3.50 / person.  Family passes are $17 and include only immediate family members.  The breakfast will be hosted by the Boy Scouts of America Troop #385. 

Flag Ceremony - Saturday, June 19 - 7:30 a.m.

The Boy Scouts of America will be presenting a flag ceremony at 7:30 a.m. at Gibbons / Heritage Park (875 W. Nibley Park Ave.).

Fun Run / Walk - Saturday, June 19 - 7:45 a.m. (arrive early)

Put on your running shoes!  Choose from a 1 mile or 5 kilometer course starting at Gibbons / Heritage Park (875 W. Nibley Park Ave.) at 7:45 a.m. Top finishers will receive awards followed by a prize drawing for all runners.  The event is FREE!  You may sign up at the City Office or download a form below.  You may also register the day of the event starting at 7:00 a.m.  The course for the run will be posted, here, prior to the event.

Parade - Saturday, June 19 - 10:00 a.m.

Dazzle the city streets this year with floats decorated to our 1010 theme:  "A Diamond Jubilee!"  Any group or organization is welcome to enter.  Prizes will be given for the most creative entries capturing the spirit of our theme. There is no entry fee!  The parade starts at 10:00 a.m. at 3200 South, 800 West and ends at Gibbons / Heritage Park (875 W. Nibley Park Ave. If you would like to participate in the parade, call Lisa Symes at 750-5090. The event is free to enter.

Carnival - Saturday, June 19 - 11:00 a.m.

Games, food, and music will be available for kids and adults, alike, at the Carnival held at Gibbons / Heritage Park (875 W., Nibley Park Ave.) from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.  Activities will include candy cannon, petting zoo, train rides, dunk tank, lots of inflatables, and a riding bull.  Be sure to stay for the watermelon extravaganza.  A wide variety of craft and food vendors will be present.  Come enjoy some entertainment from our community and bring your favorite talent to share for the open mic session.

Volunteers (adults and responsible teenagers) are also needed to man the carnival rides during Heritage Day's Carnival.  Volunteers will receive a free wristband to enjoy the inflatables when they commit to helping for an hour.  Contact Nikki Snyder at 753-7217 or n.t.snyder@juno.com to volunteer.  

Free Family Fun Games - Saturday, June 19 - 11:00

Take a trip back into the good old days when fun times were simple and simply hilarious.  Enjoy a great time with some fun-filled games like the egg roll, face the cookie, stack attack, and more!  These are games that the whole family is sure to enjoy.  The games will be held at Gibbons / Heritage Park (875 W., Nibley Park Ave.) from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

 

Volunteers are needed to help chaperone games at the Carnival on Saturday, June 19, from 11 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.  If you are are available to help for even a few hours, please call Catherine Kraning at 755-6995 by June 5th.

 

Dance Groups - Saturday, June 19 - Times vary

Enjoy some fantastic fun entertainment during the Carnival between 11:00 a.m. and 3;00 p.m. at Gibbons / Heritage Park (875 W., Nibley Park Ave.). Performance times will be posted at the Park.  Various performers will be showing off their talents throughout the day.

Concert in the Park - Saturday, June 19 - 7:30 p.m.

Get ready for an unbelievable night with renown pianist Jon Schmidt.  Jon's music covers all genres.  He has played to audiences all over the country and throughout the world.  Bring blankets and the whole family for an unforgettable Heritage Day's concert experience.  The concert will be at the Nibley City Park (3200 S., 300 W.) from 7:30 - 9:00 p.m.  Admission is free.

Fireworks - Saturday, June 19 - At Dark

Immediately following the concert, Nibley City will team up with Fireworks West for an incredible show in the sky.  The event will be held at the Nibley City Park (3200 S., 300 W.) at dark.
