PARKS, TRAILS, AND RECREATION MASTER PLAN

Nibley City is continuing the effort to update the Parks, Trails, and Recreation Master Plan. A public survey was conducted during the summer of 2009.  Information on the survey can be found at www.nibleyparksblogspot.com.

The site also contains an interactive map of Nibley City Parks.  Just click on the link to the "Master Plan Update" from the blog page to view the parks.  The Google Earth Plugin is needed to view the parks and can be downloaded from the site.

Through this process, we hope to have information on park locations and descriptions for our Parks and Recreation webpage soon.

SOCCER
The South Cache Soccer League's Spring registration for the Nibley area begins Monday, January 9th and will go through Sunday, February 5th.  Late registrations will be accepted from Monday, February 6th through Saturday, February 11th but will be assessed a $5 late fee per player.

Please register online to save time and energy by visiting www.southcachesoccer.com.

SPRING 2012 FEES:
Recreation Only - $30 (Born between August 1996 and July 2007)
Academy Recreation - $45 (Born between August 2003 - July 2005)

**If you registered in the Fall of 2011, you paid for both Fall and Spring sessions. You will not need to register. You will be contacted by your child's coach when teams are formed.  If your child would like to participate in the Academy program, you will need to pay the additional $15 difference.  Contact Janet Blad at registar @ southcachesoccer.com for help with this.**

If you are without internet access, please attend the public registration for Nibley on either Saturday, January 28th or Saturday, February 4th from 11:00-1:00 p.m. at the new City Offices.  New to soccer in Nibley?  Make sure to bring a copy of your child's birth certificate.

Volunteers to help with coaching and refereeing are also needed.  Interested?  Contact the Nibley Area Leader, Allan Haycock at 435-787-8541.

If you have further questions, or need help deciding which program is right for you, please contact Recreation Director, Rachel Haycock, via email at rachel.haycock @ gmail.com.

New this Season!  Academy Recreation will be a new opportunity offered for any player who wishes to participate that would be eligible to play in U7 or U8 age groups (born between August 2003 and July 2005) this Spring.  Space is limited so register soon!

What is the difference between Recreation and Academy Recreation? Recreation will remain as it has been - a season purely for fun supported by volunteer parent coaches and youth referees.  Academy Recreation program will be an ideal opportunity for the recreation player who needs to be challenged, would like to learn additional skill, or would like to prepare to enter the competition side of soccer. Academy players will be organized into teams with volunteer parent coaches and will have games just as before against other Academy teams. Academy players will also receive an hour and a half training session each week by a resident trainer of the British Challenger Soccer Program. The professional British coaching staff will provide players with the advanced instruction and training necessary to help them compete at a higher level. Each player "will take part in Technical, Tactical, and Physical training sessions that will sharpen skills, improve decision making, and increase speed and fitness." We are excited to be hosting two such trainers who will help develop the skills of our youth.
